Thank you for your interest in having the Writing Center perform outreach in your class. Outreach to faculty and students is important to our mission of supporting writing excellence across the disciplines. We appreciate the time you take to fill out this survey, as it assists us with keeping detailed records of our work.

Deadlines for Outreach Requests

Fall Term: First Monday in October
Spring Term: First Monday in March

Summer Term: First Monday in July

Outreach Options

5-Minute Class Visit: These are the most common requests we receive. A Writing Center tutor will come to your class to discuss the range of services we provide, what to expect during a Center session, and field students’ questions. If your classroom is tech-enabled, we also like to display our website and show students how to make an appointment using our online scheduling system.

Collaborative Presentation/Workshop: These outreach events are typically 30-60 minutes, but sometimes longer (workshops, for example). A Writing Center Senior Staff member will contact you to meet and discuss your vision for the session, goals, and any related materials you might provide (e.g., sample student work). Together, we will plan the session. We do have some presentations ready-to-go (APA, CMS, MLA citation; Communicating Your Research to the Public; Literature Reviews; Personal Statements; Professional Correspondence; Successful Peer Review; Writing Design Reports). We also offer assistance with moderating in-class peer review. If you wish for us to deliver one of these presentations, please indicate that on the survey.

We will respond to your outreach request within 5 business days.

Thank you,
